The Awkward moment

You meet someone after nearly four months, and only for the second time. Both of you are not quite sure how to great. Do you peck on the cheek, or shake hands. You move closer undecided and end up shaking hands.

I think its a fitting description. Now how do you break the ice???

Year in Review (Part Deux)

Sequels are usually not as interesting as the originals, but i'll try to break the rule.

August:
The summer continues. Temperatures were still rising and it was time to do another thing that I had not done before. (And it isn't what you all perverts are thinking) It was time to go watch my first live soccer match. And luckily the match we got to see was Brazil v/s Argentina and the new Emirates stadium in London. The atmosphere was great and if my calculations are right, Argentina had less than 10 percent supporters. The game was good, but a bit one sided as Argentina lost 3-1 to mighty Brazil.

September:
By the end of August, I was given the opportunity to take over as a bar supervisor in the hotel. It was a sudden move and not a very planned one. So much of September was concetrated on learning the job and making sure I understood the new responsibilities.

October:
October was all fun and games. In the first week, some of the Marriott graduates, went to help for the Conservative Party Conference in Bounemouth. Now, we were working extremely hard in a very windy and wet Bournemouth, camp site; but when you get 20 graduates together, along with 50 other Marriott employees, you can only imagine the rest. Tough, now thinking about it, no one was late for work the whole week.

The second week of October, saw me going on my second holiday of the calender year. Again a trip to India for Diwali. For those who don't know what diwali is; it is a Hindu festival equivalent to Christmas. This was my first time home for Diwali in 5 years. The days never seemed to start or finish, as they were so interlinked with each other. It was probably the most enjoyable time of the year.

November:
Month of the Audit. I am not too sure about other industries, but in ours, this is the time all top management are stressed out; and hence everyone else is stressed out. My challenge was make sure the bar passed its audit, as we were the only department to fail it the year before. In the end, the bar got a great 92% and the hotel passed with a decent 82%.

December:
Befoe we know its the end of the year. I am sure after reading my boring year you want it to finish and go onto a better blog to read, or probably wanting to kill youself. Figuritively speaking. Well guys this was my year. Very enjoyable. Hope yours was aswell. Do leave comments. And wishing you all the best for the comming new year.

To friendship

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend;
Someone who changes your life just by being part of it.
Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop;
Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world.
Someone who convinces you that there really is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it.
