YEAR IN REVIEW (Part 1)

The main reason to review the year is that hopefully one day when I am offered a book deal worth millions of pounds, I can look back and get some good input. So get ready to get bored.

January:
By the time the new year resolutions were broken, i.e. 2 days, it was time to plan the journey home, to India, to attend a cousins wedding. It was the first wedding in the present generation, and the whole family was looking forward to it. I must say the 21 days holidays were the shortest I have ever had. It was 20 days of non-stop partying. It used to start at around 12.00 noon at my grandmothers place, for breakfast/lunch, followed by discussion on last nights event and the final preparations for the D-day. and in the evening, the usual dinner followed by singing and dancing into the early hours of the morning. Now, I hope you understand why the day only started at 12.00

February:
February was a month in which I wasn't very sure where am I going. I had come back from India, and did not know what would I be doing at my workplace. I did not want to go back to my old job, being a night auditor, and there weren't many vacancies around that I liked. In the end, I was given a project to do to increase the first impressions of the hotel for the guest. I am not particularly found of artistic work but thought it was a good opportunity to show what I can achieve and move on to other things, that I was more interested in.

March, April and May:
There is nothing special to talk about in these three months, as it was getting into the routine of working and showing the results. One opportunity I did get was to work for the opening of a new Marriott Hotel in Leicester. It is something not a lot of people get to do and a week in Leicester did teach me a lot. Also, by now I was being seen by the management on a daily basis and was getting to know the hotel better.

June and July:
If you were in London in these two months last year, you could have mistaken to be in Delhi or some other hot part of the world. It was a welcome relief from the cold winters and wet summers people are used to in London. Maybe the first signs of Global warming. June also saw a lot of family visiting me from India. It was nice to have people come and stay with me as well as take them around the city. We visited Edinburgh and Glasgow and it made me think what was I doing in London, when Edinburgh is so beautiful.

Watching The premier tennis event, Wimbledon, from the stands and eating Strawberry and Cream, as well as Sipping Pimm's and lemonade was a dream that came true in July. I am no great fan of tennis but as a child I always followed the grand slams. My favorite stars being Goran Ivaniswich, Steffi Graf, Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi. To make it a dream come true, we had to leave the house at 5.00 am, and que up at 5.30, but it was worth every minute. the stars we did manage to see were Layton Hewitt, Venus Williams, Andre Agassi, Martina Navratilova, and our very own Sania Mirza. Next year, definitely have to get into one of the show courts, even if I have to camp all night.
